From a curious kid in Noida
to building for iOS, web, and cloud.
I'm Umesh Sharma — a freelance developer and designer who builds iOS apps, web platforms, and cloud infrastructure. I obsess over the small details. The animations, the hover states, how a button feels when you tap it. The things most people don't notice, but everyone subconsciously feels.
How it started
It started with a phone. I was always fascinated by apps — how something you could hold in your hand could do almost anything. I didn't understand how they were built, but I wanted to. That confusion didn't last long. It turned into curiosity.
I started with Python — no plan, just me and a code editor trying to make something happen. Most days were spent fixing one error and finding three more. But along the way I started building things that actually worked, talking to other developers, and learning from people a few steps ahead. That community made all the difference.
My interest shifted toward iOS development. There's something special about building for Apple's platform — the attention to detail, the design standards, the way a well-built app just feels right. I dived into Swift and SwiftUI and haven't looked back. I've since expanded into full-stack web development and cloud infrastructure, because good products need all three.
The real turning point was my first paying client. A stranger trusted me to build something they actually needed. I paid attention to every detail, delivered the project, and saw the payment come through. I realised this wasn't just a hobby — it was something I could turn into a career.
Now I run Palerin Design Studio, work with real clients, and build across iOS, web, and cloud. I also serve as a Google Campus Ambassador, connecting students with opportunities. Some days are smooth. Others involve late-night bugs and last-minute fixes. Making real products has taught me far more than any tutorial ever could.
What excites me most right now is agentic AI and multi-agent systems. Tools like LangGraph are reshaping how we build software. The pace is intense, occasionally overwhelming, and — in the best way — completely energising.
The curiosity from the beginning never really went away. There's always something new to learn, something better to build, and something I don't understand yet. That's what keeps me here.
How I Work
Stay curious
Technology moves fast. I spend time every day learning something new — whether it's a framework, a concept, or a completely different way of thinking about a problem.
Done beats perfect
Perfectionism is the enemy of progress. I believe in getting things out the door, learning from real feedback, and improving from there.
Sweat the details
The difference between good and great is in the micro-interactions, the loading states, the edge cases. These things matter — users feel them even when they can't name them.
Build for humans
Code is a means to an end. The real goal is solving problems for real people. If users don't love it, the technology doesn't matter.
Beyond the Code
What drives me
I believe great software should feel invisible. It should just work, beautifully. This philosophy drives everything I build — from the smallest micro-interaction to the architecture of entire systems. The best interfaces are the ones you don't notice.
Outside of work
When I'm not coding, you'll find me exploring motion design, diving into design systems, or experimenting with AI tools. I like staying curious, building in public, and constantly sharpening both the creative and technical sides of my work.
Let's connect
Whether you have a project in mind, want to collaborate, or just want to chat about tech or design — I'd love to hear from you.
