iOS Development

Native iOS apps built with Swift and SwiftUI.

Why native iOS still wins over cross-platform for many use cases

Cross-platform frameworks have improved dramatically, but there's still a gap. Native SwiftUI apps use iOS system components, respond to accessibility settings, respect Dynamic Type, and integrate with platform features — Shortcuts, Widgets, Live Activities, SharePlay — in ways that cross-platform frameworks struggle to match.

Apple users have high expectations. They notice when animations don't feel native. They notice when haptics are slightly off. They notice when the keyboard behavior is subtly wrong. Matching that standard requires building with the platform, not around it.

For apps where UX quality is a differentiator — and on iOS, it usually is — the native approach delivers an experience that users feel immediately, even if they can't articulate why.

How I build iOS apps that feel at home

I follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines not as a rulebook but as a foundation — knowing when to follow them and when to deliberately deviate.

  • SwiftUI for declarative, data-driven interfaces that handle state and animation cleanly
  • Swift Concurrency (async/await) for reliable networking and background work without callback hell
  • Core Data or SwiftData for offline-first data persistence that syncs with iCloud
  • Xcode Cloud for CI/CD and automated TestFlight distribution

From App Store submission to privacy manifest compliance, I handle the full launch process so your app goes live without surprises.
